Overview
To perform administrative processes and activities that contribute to the successful, efficient running of WFP shipping operations.
Tasks Summary
- Compile preliminary shipments information and establish contacts with local shipping agents
- Follow up with HQ shipping unit on receipt of shipping documents and with CO pre-clearance team on exemptions letters
- Provide clearing agent with shipping documents and exemptions letters, and maintain filing of copies
- Maintain shipping information in a weekly shipping bulletin and assist in preparation of performance evaluation of contracted clearing agents
- Supervise/monitor the discharge of WFP vessels, ensuring adherence to WFP standards
- Coordinate with clearing agent on cargo inspection by governmental departments
- Supervise de-stuffing operation of containerized shipments
- Supervise discharge operation of WFP bulk/break bulk shipments
- Adhere to WFP standards in all logistics aspects
Experience Requirements
- 5 Years related job experience
- Experience in the area of shipping, logistics or procurement
- Experience in analyzing data and drafting reports
- Experience using and maintaining supply chain databases
- Experience in providing technical business support in corporate systems
- Experience in coordinating with COs and other supply chain actors
Qualification Requirements
- Completion of secondary school education
- A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable
