Overview

Support the monitoring and evaluation capacity of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) and assist in coordinating proposed programme plans.


Tasks Summary
  • Support the review of DESA’s proposed programme plan for 2027
  • Contribute to drafting and reviewing monitoring and evaluation reports
  • Assist in data collection, review and analysis of responses to evaluations and audits
  • Support follow-up to implementation of findings and recommendations of evaluations
  • Research, analyze and present information on economic, social and sustainable development topics
  • Perform other duties as required

Experience Requirements

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. A field of study in business administration, programme management, economics, political science, international relations, public administration, evaluation or a related field is required.


Qualification Requirements
  • Enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); OR enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent)
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Teams
Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an asset.

Contract Duration: Three (3) months, with an opportunity for extension up to a maximum of six (6) months.

Work Modality: In-person and full-time (35 hours), but can be adjusted based on request.

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
