Overview

Coordinate the implementation of the Pacific Gender and ADAP Strategy and provide technical support to programme teams on key gender priorities. Ensure gender equality is systematically mainstreamed across UNICEF’s work in the Pacific.


Tasks Summary
  • Coordinate implementation of the Pacific Gender and ADAP Strategy
  • Provide technical support to programme teams on key gender priorities
  • Lead integration of gender priorities across programme outcome areas
  • Support cross-sectoral collaboration for gender results
  • Provide technical guidance on gender outcomes, measurement, and reporting
  • Support assessments, research, and evaluations informing programming
  • Contribute to emergency preparedness and response by addressing gender-specific needs
  • Work with ADAP focal points to operationalize the Gender and ADAP Strategy
  • Empower adolescent girls and promote their meaningful participation
  • Provide technical/advisory support to Deputy Representative, Senior Gender Programme Specialist, or Representative
  • Participate in or support Country Management Team (CMT) and other key leadership teams
  • Coordinate with Regional Gender Advisors and Headquarters Gender Section on programmatic funds
  • Participate in planning and monitoring of budget utilization for gender interventions
  • Lead gender component of routine country-level programme expenditure reporting
  • Provide technical input and review on gender components in funding proposals and project designs
  • Support evidence-based programme/project planning on gender
  • Provide technical leadership on integration of gender into country programming phases
  • Identify areas of focus for gender programming/projects with greatest potential for impact
  • Incorporate sound gender indicators and measures in programme/project and policy initiatives
  • Assist in developing gender-sensitive theories of change models
  • Support indicator identification, measurement, and performance tracking for gender mainstreaming

Experience Requirements
  • Experience in coordinating strategy implementation
