Overview
This position leads and collaborates with national government ministries and provides technical guidance and management support for child protection initiatives. It aims to build a protective environment for children, ensuring their rights to survival, development, and wellbeing.
Tasks Summary
- Support programme/project development and planning by conducting situation analyses and preparing proposals aligned with UNICEF's Strategic Plans and national priorities.
- Formulate, design, and prepare programme/project proposals for the child protection sector.
- Establish goals, objectives, strategies, and implementation plans using results-based management (RBM).
- Provide technical and operational support throughout programming processes.
- Collaborate with colleagues and partners to establish monitoring benchmarks and performance indicators.
- Participate in monitoring and evaluation exercises, programme reviews, and annual reviews.
- Prepare and assess monitoring and evaluation reports to identify gaps and lessons learned.
- Monitor programmes/projects through field visits and surveys to assess progress and identify issues.
- Monitor and verify the appropriate use of sectoral programme resources.
Experience Requirements
- Experience in leading and collaborating with national-level Government line ministries.
- Experience in providing technical guidance and management support throughout all programming phases.
- Experience in strengthening child protection systems.
- Experience in implementing remote, community-based approaches.
- Experience in responding to emergencies, particularly those driven by climate change.
