Overview

Provide leadership and representation for the Nutrition Cluster in South Sudan, ensuring a coordinated and effective response by partners.

Tasks Summary

• Supervise the Cluster/ Sector/ Working Group coordination team
• Conduct needs assessment and analysis
• Develop strategic response plans
• Engage in resource mobilization and advocacy
• Oversee implementation and monitoring
• Ensure accountability to affected populations
• Strengthen national and local capacity

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in nutrition, public health, nutrition planning and management, or maternal, infant, and child health/nutrition care, preferably at the international level.
• Experience working in the humanitarian coordination system is required.
• Experience in humanitarian contexts is required.
• Experience in development contexts is an added advantage.
• Relevant experience in health/nutrition programme/project development and management in a UN system agency or organization is considered an asset.

Qualification Requirements

An advanced university degree in nutrition, public health, nutritional epidemiology, global/international health and nutrition, health/nutrition research, policy and/or management, health sciences, humanitarian assistance and development, or another health-related science field.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in English and the official UN language of the duty station.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is considered an asset.

Contract Duration: 364 days
