Overview

Internship supporting the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) Secretariat in technical and program facilitation for the annual IGF meeting and intersessional activities.

Tasks Summary

• Providing support to the IGF’s program platforms
• Supporting technical and substantive actions related to the IGF website functions and design
• Assisting with the functionality of the IGF web application
• Supporting the implementation of the social media campaign
• Assisting in the delivery of training for remote participation support staff
• Compiling annual participation statistics and media analysis
• Creating, implementing, and analysing surveys and polls
• Supporting interface design or layout of final IGF output documents
• Assisting with other program components related to intersessional work and the annual meeting

Experience Requirements

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualification Requirements

• Enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher)
• Enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent)
• Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage. Ability to draft news articles and/or social media posts is desirable. Ability to design surveys and polls is desirable.

Contract Duration: 3-6 months

Work Modality: remote and part-time

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
