Overview
Manages relationships with a portfolio of donors and pursues innovative avenues for funding opportunities. Contributes to the promotion and implementation of the Agency’s Resource Mobilization Strategy.
Tasks Summary
- Manages donor relationships and organizes/participates in missions and meetings.
- Gathers market research on target countries for fundraising potential.
- Develops country strategy papers and work plans.
- Prepares briefing documents for senior management.
- Ensures dissemination of accurate information about the Agency.
- Analyzes, reviews, and edits project progress reports and drafts correspondence.
- Contributes to the development and strategic use of outreach materials.
- Monitors implementation of Agency-wide projects funded by donors.
- Negotiates bilateral agreements and MOUs with donors.
- Negotiates and drafts project proposals.
- Liaises with Field Offices and donors for proposal preparation.
- Reviews final drafts of proposals and drafts correspondence.
- Liaises with Finance Department and Programme Directors.
- Provides guidance to Field Offices and Headquarters Departments.
- Works with Finance Department, Field Offices, and Programme Departments for timely report submission.
- Consults with donors on project extension or modification requests.
- Strengthens department-wide efforts to enhance UNRWA’s brand profile with donors.
Experience Requirements
- At least five years of progressively responsible and relevant experience in fundraising, donor relations, political analysis, and/or institutional cooperation project management in the context of the UN, donor governments or international non–governmental organizations is required.
- Unless already serving as an international staff member in the UN Common System, at least two continuous years of relevant international experience outside UNRWA and outside the country(s) of citizenship is required.
Qualification Requirements
• Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) from an accredited educational institution in political science, international relations, business or public or business administration, law, economics, development or humanitarian studies or a related discipline.
