Overview

The role involves checking and analyzing technical drawings to extract measurements and quantities, preparing cost estimates, and maintaining cost information databases for construction and maintenance projects.


Tasks Summary
  • Checks and analyses architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings to extract measurements and convert them into quantities.
  • Produces the total and description for each item.
  • Verifies and discusses unclear items with Designers, discrepancies or irregularities.
  • Prepares cost estimates and cost analysis for valuation purposes.
  • Carries out cost comparisons for different types of construction systems.
  • Advises on feasibility and cost effectiveness.
  • Maintains cost information and database for works.
  • Updates database for cost estimates.
  • Assists supervisor in carrying out random technical quality and cost verification of final accounts and Agency-supplied materials.
  • Participates in verification of interim and final project accounts.
  • Assists supervisor in documenting and maintaining records of taking-off sheets, standard forms, specifications and other relevant forms.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Experience Requirements
  • At least two years’ experience in quantity surveying duties in construction and maintenance works is required
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in utilizing specialized quantity surveying software (billing, estimating, cost control and cash flow) is required

Qualification Requirements

A university degree from an accredited educational institute in quantity surveying, construction economics or a related discipline.

Contract Duration: Fixed Term Appointment for 1 year, with the possibility of further extension

Remuneration: Monthly basic salary JD 780.00 Monthly Provident Fund contribution (15.4% of basic salary paid by the Agency) Compulsory medical insurance 30 days of annual leave Dependency allowance (if applicable) 2 days of sick leave for each completed month of service 14 weeks of Maternity Leave 2 weeks paternity leave
