Overview

Responsible for recruitment, staff development, and general HR administrative support within the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.


Tasks Summary
  • Liaise with Divisions on recruitment, administration, and separation of staff.
  • Evaluate and screen candidate applications, prepare profiles, and conduct roster searches.
  • Create job openings in Inspira and liaise with hiring managers.
  • Initiate and follow up on reference checks and onboarding processes.
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating substantive assessments.
  • Maintain job opening files and track their status.
  • Advise staff on visa, travel documents, and other HR matters.
  • Review requests for contract extensions and special post allowances.
  • Evaluate exceptions to Staff Rules and Regulations concerning contractual matters or entitlements.
  • Assist in identifying staff development needs and organizing training courses.
  • Provide logistics and administrative support to trainers.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR-related briefings.
  • Assist clients in performance appraisal management.
  • Assist in reviewing and processing classification requests.
  • Maintain HR-related automated systems and prepare periodic reports.
  • Support the implementation of HR projects.
  • Undertake research on HR-related issues and prepare notes, reports, and statistics.
  • Provide general office support services, including drafting correspondence and maintaining files.
  • Prepare written responses to HR-related queries.
  • Train and supervise new and junior staff.
  • Coordinate work priorities and support back-up purposes.
  • Assist client offices with the recruitment and administration of non-staff.

Experience Requirements
  • Experience in human resources policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Ability to interpret and apply HR policies in an organizational setting.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to make appropriate linkages in work requirements.
  • Capacity to autonomously review data accuracy and gather relevant information.
  • Ability to analyze large human resources data sets and prepare summaries for decision-making.
