Overview

Support the Lead Analyst in preparing draft and final reports for the Nation Statistics Office. Deliverables must be accepted by the NSO and adhere to their guidelines.

Tasks Summary

• Participate in orientation and writing workshops
• Develop and submit an inception report with report outline, dummy tables, and data summary
• Review literature related to the thematic report topic
• Mobilize and work with experts for report preparation
• Prepare and submit first draft thematic report
• Incorporate reviewers' comments and provide justification for unaddressed comments
• Submit thematic report to UNICEF, WHO, and Ministry of Water Supply for feedback
• Participate in second writing workshop and present progress
• Finalize thematic report incorporating feedback
• Submit final thematic report, Excel file of tables/figures, and tidy Excel working file
• Prepare PowerPoint presentation of key findings
• Present report at dissemination event
• Submit Nepali version of executive summary
• Prepare annex of tables and figures
• Prepare Excel working file with tabulations and workings

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years qualifying experience in data analysis, research, and writing on population and demographic issues
• Working experience with official statistics producing agencies
• Prior involvement in preparing thematic reports is desirable
• Experience in analyzing cross demission themes like GESI and Poverty using major national data is desirable
• Previous experience working with the United Nations is desirable

Qualification Requirements

• Advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in Applied Statistics, Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Studies, or relevant Social Science disciplines
• First-level university degree combined with two (2) additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English is required

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of the Nepali language is desirable
