Overview
Internship supporting the Planning & Finance Section of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) in coordinating substantive, normative, and operational work on urban planning, finance, and economy.
Tasks Summary
- Assist in tracking developments and innovations in planning, finance, and inclusion.
- Support content and logistics preparation for workshops, surveys, assessments, trainings, and seminars.
- Assist in coordinating Section teams.
- Support research for papers and thinking pieces on urban planning, finance, and economy.
- Assist in SDG localization in urban planning and finance policy frameworks.
- Support the Section Chief in administrative matters, including organizing meetings and taking notes.
- Familiarize oneself with UN-Habitat's work and related topics.
- Participate in dialogues with UN-Habitat divisions, offices, and partners.
Experience Requirements
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. A field of study closely related to the internship is required. Previous experience in developing contexts and in urban development will be considered as an asset.
Qualification Requirements
- Enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), OR
- Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent), OR
- Graduated with Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent.
- Computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Proficiency in GIS, Microsoft Office Suite including excel is a requirement.
- Proficiency in graphic software such as Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, AutoCAD, etc an asset.
