Overview

Support the UN Resident Coordinators Office (RCO) in China with protocol-related matters, including engagement with government counterparts and support for UN delegations.

Tasks Summary

• Prepare draft Note Verbales to government counterparts regarding diplomatic immunities and privileges
• Engage with government counterparts on practical protocol issues
• Support liaison with the UN Country Team on protocol-related requests
• Support incoming high-level UN delegations with logistics and substantive matters

Experience Requirements

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. A field of study closely related to the internship is required.

Qualification Requirements

• Enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) OR
• Currently enrolled as a junior or senior undergraduate student or have already obtained a bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Good knowledge of standard software applications (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams)
• Ability to design surveys and draft documents is desirable

Remuneration: UNPAID. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
