Overview

Support the implementation of activities under the LAO-TOC project related to strengthening capacities for drug and precursor control as well as trafficking in persons.


Tasks Summary
  • Prepare and seek approval for Year Two Work Plan on precursors and public-private partnerships
  • Coordinate meetings between authorities of Lao PDR, Thailand and Viet Nam to assess seaport visits
  • Facilitate capacity needs assessment for forensic laboratories
  • Prepare roll-out of e-Learning modules for law enforcement
  • Prepare acquisition of equipment for drug and chemical trafficking areas
  • Identify and prepare training for law enforcement on searches, seizures and investigations for chemical diversion
  • Support quarterly donor reporting
  • Prepare and seek approval for Year Two Work Plan on human trafficking and migrant smuggling
  • Prepare and support workshops to strengthen cooperation between law enforcement and Lao Women Union and NGOs
  • Support implementation of VFI activities
  • Prepare and support trainings on identification, screening, and referral of victims for ATD
  • Prepare and support trainings on evidential issues for judges and prosecutors
  • Prepare and support trainings on proactive investigative techniques for ATD
  • Support bilateral exchanges between TIP police units

Experience Requirements
  • Experience in technical assistance related to combating transnational organized crime, including trafficking in persons, smuggling of migrants, and drugs and precursors trafficking
  • Experience in strengthening criminal justice systems
  • Experience in ratification and implementation of international conventions and protocols related to transnational organized crime
