Overview

Develop strategic impact narratives and digital communication products to demonstrate institutional reform, sustainability, and results achieved under specific UNODC projects. Provide editorial oversight for training manuals and newsletters, and design a communications framework for project handover.

Tasks Summary

• Develop six strategic impact narratives
• Provide strategic editorial oversight and quality assurance for three flagship training manuals/reports
• Lead development of targeted digital communication products (web stories, social media narratives)
• Provide editorial leadership for UNODC Pakistan Quarterly Newsletter (Q1 2026)
• Oversee development of UNODC Pakistan Quarterly Newsletter (Q2 2026)
• Design and implement a strategic communications and visibility framework for PMIS handover in Balochistan
• Conceptualize, design and implement high profile launch events
• Ensure targeted media coverage
• Design, support and implement visibility events
• Disseminate beneficiary stories in regional and local print media
• Publish blogs and web stories
• Promote rule of law interventions on UN agencies' social media pages
• Develop publications/knowledge products (thematic briefs/newsletters, brochures, flyers)
• Coordinate and facilitate organization of workshops, webinars, seminars and learning events
• Provide internal and external targeted advocacy and communications support
• Develop and design a quarterly programme Newsletter
• Develop and design success stories
• Develop various written communication documents and promotional material
• Promote UNODC’s SPII’s work on social media

Experience Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in communications for governance reforms, advocacy, campaign design and development, media journalism or/and communication is required
• Demonstrated ability in translating evidence-based programmatic and policy reports into communications materials for various stakeholders is required
• Ability to plan and orchestrate programmatic knowledge into learning and advocacy events
• Demonstrated experience in producing multimedia (video) content is desired
• Experience working in the area of Criminal Justice/Rule is desired
• Demonstrated ability in ensuring consistency through applying visibility and branding guidelines is desired

Qualification Requirements

• An advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Communication, journalism, digital marketing or other related fields is required
• A first-level university degree in the aforementioned fields in combination with two (2) additional years of qualifying work experience, may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree is required

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in English, with excellent drafting and communication skills, is required

Languages Preferred: Fluency in local language Urdu is desired• Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage

Contract Duration: 11.02.2026 – 31.05.2026

Work Modality: Home based with possible travel within Pakistan
