Overview

Conduct a strategic foresight exercise to evaluate project impacts and propose recommendations for strengthening climate resilience through regional cooperation for inclusive sustainable development in the Arab region.

Tasks Summary

• Review regional and global strategies impacting climate resilience programming
• Review project reports, website, stories, meeting reports, publications and policy notes
• Consult with ESCWA pillar leads on project impacts and gaps
• Organize and conduct a Strategic Foresight Consultation with regional experts
• Prepare a preliminary policy brief by end February
• Solicit feedback on the draft policy brief
• Prepare final policy brief
• Contribute to consultations on structuring a project document

Experience Requirements

• At least 10 years of demonstrated professional experience in monitoring and evaluation of sustainable development issues affecting the Arab region
• At least 5 years of experience advising international organizations and/or governments on programme evaluation and planning
• Experience using strategic foresight tools

Qualification Requirements

• Master's degree in political science, public policy, development economics, international relations or related field
• A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying years of experience may be accepted
