Overview

Deliver and manage community-based gender and protection activities, conduct protection and gender analysis, and ensure safe programming across all sectors.

Tasks Summary
  • Deliver and manage community-based gender and protection activities
  • Conduct and support ongoing protection analysis, context monitoring, and gender analysis
  • Organize and facilitate community dialogues, awareness sessions, and training
  • Implement projects focused on women's economic empowerment, political participation, literacy, or leadership
  • Conduct safety audits or protection risk assessments
  • Contribute to the development of advocacy materials and messages
  • Prepare and ensure the implementation of protection risk assessments, mitigation methods, and action plans
  • Ensure all protection referral information is managed according to organizational SOPs and data security standards
  • Prepare and submit project reports on activities, challenges, and outcomes
  • Provide support to ensure gender and protection considerations are integrated across all project activities
  • Lead and implement capacity-building initiatives, including designing and delivering tailored training
  • Promote Gender Justice
  • Represent Oxfam in relevant external coordination forums and working groups
  • Work with local partners, local government offices, and civil society organizations to coordinate activities and build strategic alliances
  • Coordinates activities with Oxfam and consortium sector leads
  • Supports and coordinates with MEAL Officers for baseline surveys, post-distribution, and other monitoring
  • Submits monthly reports to track beneficiary numbers
  • Provides written feedback about protection incidents, issues, and aid-related community- conflicts
  • Manage a team of Protection Assistants, volunteers, and Community protection structures
  • Supervise the implantation of the protection plans per location
  • Ensure procurement of protection supplied follows Oxfam procurement procedures
  • Ensure all protection information applies protection information management standards
  • Review and evaluate Protection Assistants’ performance and proactively plan capacity training needed
  • Integrate Oxfam gender and safeguarding principles to guide any management plans
Experience Requirements
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Gender and Protection field, working with Humanitarian or Development Agencies
  • Prior experience in community-based protection and conflict management
Qualification Requirements

• Degree in Law, Social Sciences, International Relations, or Social work

Other Details

Languages Required: • Good spoken and written English and Arabic language abilities
