Overview
Responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of UN-Habitat urban recovery projects in Syria, focusing on urban data management, capacity development, and protection of Housing Land and Property rights.
Tasks Summary
- Participates in project development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Monitors and analyzes programme/project development and implementation.
- Performs consulting and capacity development assignments.
- Researches, analyzes, and presents information.
- Undertakes assessment and survey initiatives.
- Provides substantive support to meetings.
- Undertakes outreach activities and conducts training workshops.
- Participates in or leads field missions.
- Oversees preparation of project documentation.
- Collects and analyzes data using GIS Platform.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management and urban recovery in post conflict setting is required.
- Experience in housing finance, urban planning and/or urban policy development is required.
- Experience in programme and project planning, analysis and budgeting are required.
- Experience working with the UN system or similar international organization is desirable.
- Two (2) years or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
- Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in architecture, urban planning, engineering, or social science is required.
- A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in the specified fields of studies in combination with two (2) years of additional qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.
