Overview
The Programme Officer (ITC Team Lead, Trade for Jobs Uganda) will be responsible for providing managerial and technical expertise to ensure the effective implementation and coordination of Trade for Jobs activities in Uganda, focusing on strengthening the dairy and tourism sectors.
Tasks Summary
- Develops, implements and evaluates assigned programmes/projects.
- Monitors and analyzes programme/project development and implementation.
- Performs consulting assignments by planning and facilitating workshops.
- Researches, analyzes and presents information gathered from diverse sources.
- Coordinates policy development.
- Generates survey initiatives and designs data collection tools.
- Organizes and prepares written outputs.
- Provides substantive backstopping to meetings and conferences.
- Initiates and coordinates outreach activities and conducts training workshops.
- Leads and/or participates in field missions.
- Coordinates activities related to budget funding.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of seven years (nine years with a first level degree) of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration or related area is required.
- Experience in partnership building and effective fundraising is desirable.
- Experience in working with the tourism sectors is desirable.
- Experience in Trade Related Technical Assistance in developing countries is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics or a related field.
- A first-level university degree in the above subjects in combination with an additional 2 years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
