Provides assistance in support of the implementation of the "Vanishing Treasures” project and related activities, focusing on the nexus between nature and climate action in mountain ecosystems within the Andean and wider LAC region.
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in project management, including experience in biodiversity conservation and ecosystem-based adaptation/nature-based solutions is required. Experience working in sustainable mountain development including experience in (Tropical) Andes region is required. Experience working in wildlife conservation with large carnivores in the Andes region such as the jaguar or spectacled bear is required. Experience with policy and strategy development (national/regional level) and previous experience working in international organizations is desirable. Experience in developing tools, methodologies, and guidance, preferably with a focus on the nature-related aspects of climate change adaptation and wildlife conservation is desirable. A minimum of one (1) year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable (none if successful YPP or P-1 with a related degree).
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree, equivalent or higher) in a field relevant to tropical mountains, ecosystem management and restoration, biodiversity and wildlife conservation, climate change adaptation/ Nature-based solutions, including environmental sciences, sustainable development or a related field is required. A first level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree. Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.
