Overview

The role involves providing secretarial and logistical support to the Director in the management and administration of the Directorate, including handling correspondence, document management, and organizing missions and meetings.

Tasks Summary
  • Handling correspondence
  • Document management (registration, checking and follow– up of mail)
  • Filing
  • Editing of texts
  • Organising the Director's missions
  • Coordinating briefings
  • Coordinating the Directorate's preparation of draft replies and briefings for the Director-General, the Commissioner and other Members of the College
  • Providing guidance to the secretariats of the six units
  • Agenda management
  • Organisation of missions and meetings
  • Registration and follow-up of mail and deadlines
  • Preparation of dossiers for meetings
Experience Requirements

Proven secretarial experience and knowledge of standard Commission tools (ARES, MIPS, SYSPER2, Outlook, Basis, Eurolook) are an asset.

Qualification Requirements
  • A level of post-secondary education attested by a diploma, or
  • A level of secondary education attested by a diploma giving access to post-secondary education, and appropriate professional experience of at least three years.
Other Details

Languages Required: • A thorough knowledge (minimum level C1) of one of the 24 official languages of the EU • AND a satisfactory knowledge (minimum level B2) of a second official language of the EU, to the extent necessary for the performance of the duties.

Languages Preferred: Very good knowledge of English and French is necessary. A positive and service-oriented attitude and resilience are desirable.

Contract Duration: The duration of the 1st contract will be up to 4 years. The contract might then be extended only once for a maximum of 2 years and in the interest of service.

Work Modality:

Remuneration: The pay of staff members consists of a basic salary supplemented with specific allowances, including, where applicable, expatriation and family allowances.
