Overview

The incumbent will assist the Labour Mobility and Social Inclusion (LMI) Head of Unit with project implementation and support new project organization within the IOM Country Office, particularly for the SHIELD project.

Tasks Summary
  • Assist in the implementation and follow-up of project activities, including work plans and deliverables.
  • Organize steering committees and events.
  • Support project partners and stakeholders, and participate in regular meetings.
  • Assist in the preparation of project budget, contracts, administration, terms of reference, procurement, and privacy documents.
  • Liaise with internal IOM units.
  • Assist in drafting narrative and financial reports to donors.
  • Identify potential partnerships with civil society and other stakeholders.
  • Draft conference presentations and speeches.
  • Prepare for, participate in, and follow up on meetings/conferences.
  • Provide technical assistance for the organization of new projects and initiatives, including drafting concept notes and project proposals.
  • Assist in identifying donor priorities and funding opportunities.
Experience Requirements
  • Two years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree (or higher).
  • Four years of relevant professional experience with a completed High School degree.
  • Proven working experience in project implementation, including EU-funded projects.
  • Proven understanding of the Belgian context relating to migration and integration.
  • A previous working experience in the field of ‘labour mobility’, ‘social inclusion’ or ‘migrant protection’ is an advantage.
  • Experience with child protection is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the broad range of migration related areas is an advantage.
Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in economics, social science, migration studies or related field from an accredited academic institution.
  • Completed High School degree.
Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in English, French and Dutch is required (oral and written).

Languages Preferred:

Contract Duration: 1 year with possibility of extension
