Overview

The Supply Chain Officer (SCO) will be responsible and accountable for supply chain activities, guided by Supply Chain Management (SCM) objectives to deliver quality goods and services to the beneficiaries at optimal price and in a timely manner.

Tasks Summary
  • Contribute to strategic planning for supply chain activities.
  • Conduct logistics capacity assessment and market research.
  • Coordinate and monitor supply chain management tasks and activities.
  • Contribute to the management of supply chain activities including planning, procurement, warehouse management, transport and distribution.
  • Identify supply chain bottlenecks and propose process optimization.
  • Contribute to the review of procurement requests and evaluation of vendor performance.
  • Solicit bids, quotations and tender documents, oversee bidding process and support procurement transactions.
  • Liaise with programme management and provide technical support for tendering processes.
  • Ensure timely submission of assets, procurement and other reports.
  • Contribute to the establishment and management of internal control mechanisms for SCM process.
  • Support and monitor the maintenance and repair of office facilities.
  • Provide training and guidance to SCM staff.
  • Participate and engage actively in UN inter-agency meetings and forums related to supply chain management.
Experience Requirements
  • Experience in managing diverse procurement and logistics operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in training and supervising teams of co-workers, managing vendors and suppliers.
Qualification Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or
  • University degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional experience.
Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in English is required (oral and written).

Languages Preferred: Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is an advantage.

Contract Duration: 6 months with possibility of extension
