Overview

Communications consultant to develop and implement a communications strategy for the Economics of Nature Unit, enhancing awareness and visibility of initiatives related to nature's value and natural capital accounting.

Tasks Summary

• Develop and oversee the development of impact stories, country policy briefs, and social media content.
• Coordinate the flow of information and communication products from country partners.
• Liaise with UNEP Communication Division and Web team for visibility and updates.
• Oversee the work of communications consultants, graphic designers, and videographers.
• Develop TEEBAgriFood content for various communication tools and platforms.
• Coordinate and train national research partners on communication topics.
• Identify and coordinate key moments for advocacy and public-facing communication activities.

Experience Requirements

• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in Journalism or Communication for International Development with a focus on food systems transformation is required.
• Previous work within the UN System or International Organizations on Food System Transformation is desirable.
• Experience with developing immersive storytelling tools (VR/AR) is desirable.
• Experience of developing communications products in at least three of the five project countries (Ghana, Indonesia, India, Kenya, Lao) is desirable.

Qualification Requirements

• Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Communications, International Relations, Journalism, or Environmental related areas is required.
• A first university degree with a combination of two (2) years professional and academic qualifications may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
