Overview

The intern will support the Energy Unit in the analysis of data and information on natural resources to contribute to the Unit’s analytical and policy work.

Tasks Summary

• Assisting in research on natural resources issues and topics.
• Searching, collecting and organizing data and information on natural resources issues and topics from various sources.
• Reviewing documents and preparing abstracts, summaries and other inputs.
• Proofreading documents.
• Editing texts for accuracy, grammar, punctuation and style, and for adherence to established editorial rules and standards.
• Providing administrative support in meetings.
• Preparing a variety of inputs for documents and presentations.
• Providing support in writing news and updating Unit's web content.
• Perform other related duties as required

Experience Requirements

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualification Requirements

• Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
• Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
• Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.
• Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook and MS Teams.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

Contract Duration: 3 - 6 months

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
