Overview

The Nutrition Officer supports the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of public health nutrition programs in line with WHO norms and national priorities. This includes applying evidence-based nutrition interventions and strengthening nutrition surveillance.

Tasks Summary
  • Manages data collection and analysis and develops comprehensive plans to implement national programs.
  • Communicates and follows up with relevant Federal Ministry of Health/State Ministry of Health units for data collection for the WHO Report.
  • Works closely with state and field MoH and WHO officers to improve timely reporting from nutrition facilities and stabilization centers.
  • Supports the establishment of IYCF reporting from nutrition sides and stabilization centers.
  • Shares monthly CMAM reports.
  • Manages Infant and Young Child Feeding activities.
  • Manages Growth Monitoring and Promotion.
  • Manages Clinical nutrition and diet therapy.
  • Participates in the planning of WHO emergency and humanitarian nutrition activities.
  • Monitors and coordinates the implementation of planned activities, national and field action.
  • Supports and coordinates the implementation of joint nutrition activities internally and externally with nutrition partners.
  • Follows WHO nutrition technical and financial reports.
  • Uses food composition table for Sudan and develops local food recipes.
  • Follows up on the establishment of centers of excellence for SC.
  • Follows up on WHO nutrition supplies process till they reach required destinations.
  • Follows implementation of donor projects.
  • Strengthens capacity building of nutrition interventions at various levels.
  • Identifies training needs for respective target audiences and develops comprehensive plans for capacity building.
  • Organizes and delivers training activities to various target groups.
  • Builds capacity for prevention and management of nutrition interventions including WHO new guidelines.
Experience Requirements

3 years of relevant experience.

Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Health and Nutrition and food security.

Other Details

Languages Required: English, Level: Fluent, Required

Languages Preferred: Arabic, Level: Fluent, Desirable

Contract Duration: 6 months (with possibility of extension)

Work Modality: Onsite

Remuneration: Monthly Volunteer Living allowance (VLA) at amount of 1597.24 USD. danger and Hardship Differential DHD: 5750.1 USD. Annual and learning leaves. Free Medical and life insurance. Free access to different learning platforms.
