Overview
The Peacebuilding Officer will contribute to the direct implementation of day-to-day project activities, engage local stakeholders and community members, and contribute to reporting and organizational learning.
Tasks Summary
- Planning and direct implementation of project activities including outreach, meetings, dialogue facilitation, training sessions, actor mapping, and key informant interviews.
- Contributing to conflict analysis and providing feedback on local conflict dynamics.
- Liaising, communicating, and developing relationships with local stakeholders.
- Mobilizing key target groups for activities.
- Contributing to the design and distribution planning for awareness raising campaigns.
- Planning and arranging logistics for community sessions and project activities.
- Supporting the design and delivery of training and capacity building workshops.
- Procurement of services for community initiatives and awareness raising campaigns.
- Adhering to safety, logistics/procurement, HR, and DRC/DDG Standard Operating Procedures.
- Completing site visits for quotation gathering, venue assessment, and beneficiary meetings.
- Following the Code of Conduct.
- Contributing to the monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning plan.
- Contributing to regular reporting and documentation of project activities.
- Promoting a culture of learning and sharing challenges and lessons learned.
- Attending team meetings.
- Completing and uploading KII reports and/or transcripts.
- Partaking in internal team trainings.
- Updating the activity tracker.
- Reporting to the Project Manager as requested.
- Communicating with team members and beneficiaries promptly.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with non-governmental organizations.
- Extensive demonstrated experience working with communities and successful liaison with community focal points and authorities.
- Preference for previous experience working on conflict prevention/social cohesion.
Qualification Requirements
• A university degree in social science, political science, related field or relevant experience.
