Overview

The National Project Coordinator - Forest Monitoring role is responsible for coordinating project implementation and ensuring effective delivery of project results and outputs.

Tasks Summary
  • Advise and assist stakeholders in developing feasible approaches and strategies for project implementation.
  • Identify and assess project risks and opportunities.
  • Coordinate advisory and technical assistance activities.
  • Facilitate and coordinate participation of relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective coordination with other relevant initiatives.
  • Maintain collaboration with FAO Country Office and project team.
  • Develop and implement project workplans, budgets, and reports.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure data availability for M&E.
  • Facilitate consultations and meetings.
  • Support knowledge sharing, documentation, and publication of project outputs.
  • Support the work of national and international consultants.
  • Perform other relevant tasks assigned by FAO.
Experience Requirements
  • At least 8 years of professional experience in coordinating programmes and projects in the areas of natural resource management, environmental conservation, or closely related fields for candidates with a postgraduate degree.
  • At least 12 years of relevant professional experience for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Extensive work experience in forest monitoring and forest inventory.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in leading teams, planning and organising work in teams.
  • Experience in working with government agencies, UN-agencies or International NGOs.
  • Proven track record of advising, supporting and collaborating with government institutions.
  • Experience in forest monitoring, forest inventory, remote sensing, land assessment or related field is an advantage.
Qualification Requirements
  • Postgraduate degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Geography, or a closely related field.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field may be considered in lieu of a postgraduate degree.

Languages Required: • Working knowledge of English and Indonesian language
