Overview

The Photographer and Production Designer will capture high-quality photographs of field activities and people, and develop overall layouts for products, in close collaboration with relevant FAO units.

Tasks Summary

• Take portraits of FAO field staff, implementing partners, and other stakeholders in action.
• Take high-quality photos capturing field activities like seed loading and truck dispatch operations, farmers' vaccinations of animals, farming activities in the field.
• Provide at least 60 high-quality photographs (mix of horizontal and vertical, landscape, portraits, and action shots).
• Provide full detailed captions in English for each photograph.
• Capture photographs of people in a respectful and humane way.
• Identify and develop an overall layout that suits the product type.
• Work in consultation with the publication Editor.
• Submit 3 to 5 design proposals.
• Perform three rounds of corrections.
• Deliver high- and low-resolution files and complete design packages.

Experience Requirements

• At least 1 year of relevant experience in field photography.
• Proven experience in taking photos in meetings with multidisciplinary teams, of government and humanitarian and development partners.

Qualification Requirements

• University degree in Journalism, Communication, Computer, and related studies or a related field

Other Details

Languages Required: • Working knowledge (Level C) of English

Languages Preferred: • knowledge of Arabic or another FAO official language is an asset

Contract Duration: 6 months with possibility of extension
