Overview

The Communication Officer will provide operational support for forward planning of communications, contribute to corporate and thematic communication strategies, and develop content for various communication channels.

Tasks Summary
  • Provide operational support to the Team Lead for forward planning for communications, including development of planning tools, procedures and processes.
  • Contribute to the development of the annual corporate communications strategy, as well as thematic communication strategies.
  • Work on a wide range of writing assignments, including general content for the website, talking points for senior executives, issue briefs, donor briefs, news releases, brochures, and fact sheets.
  • Contribute to the development of a stakeholder engagement strategy.
  • Play a proactive role in conceptualizing, planning and producing the annual report.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
  • At least five years of experience at national or international level in communications, or national, multilateral and/or international stakeholder engagement.
  • One year's experience of working in multicultural teams.
  • Demonstrated experience of global health or international development health issues.
  • Proven experience writing about technically complex issues and making them understandable to diverse audiences.
  • Desirable: Experience working in a complex organization.
  • Desirable: Proven ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Desirable: Experience crafting messages for multiple communications channels (social media, web, newsletters and media).
Qualification Requirements

• Essential: A first level university degree in communications, journalism, humanities, social science or another relevant subject.

Other Details

Languages Required: • Expert knowledge of English.

Languages Preferred: • Intermediate knowledge of French. • Intermediate knowledge of Spanish.

Contract Duration: 12 months

Work Modality:

Remuneration: • Annual base salary starting at USD 70,212 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable). • Variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 5254 per month for the duty station indicated above. • Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
