Overview

The Associate Technical Services and Maintenance Officer is responsible for supervising the IARC technical team and external maintenance providers to ensure efficient and effective management of the Agency’s resources and provision of administrative services.

Tasks Summary
  • Oversee and monitor multi-technical maintenance contracts, ensuring proper execution and adherence to deadlines and service scope.
  • Act as energy manager by monitoring building energy consumption, analyzing usage, and implementing reduction measures.
  • Coordinate interventions and maintenance providers to ensure service continuity during research activities and events.
  • Draft and update maintenance procedures, plans, and reports.
  • Utilize monitoring tools such as CMMS, SAM Facility Management, and BMS to produce activity and performance reports.
  • Lead the IARC technical team and oversee maintenance solutions provided by the supplier.
  • Support budget preparation for maintenance and energy consumption.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of technical installations.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators for maintenance and energy consumption.
Experience Requirements
  • At least two years of professional experience in facility management, building maintenance, and/or energy management.
  • Desirable: Experience in laboratory or research facility environments, and in United Nations or other international organizations.
Qualification Requirements
  • Essential: First university degree in building engineering and design, building maintenance and facility management, energy management or closely related field.
  • Desirable: Master’s degree in related field. Qualification in Project Management.
Other Details

Languages Required: Expert knowledge of French is essential. Working knowledge of English is essential.

Languages Preferred:

Contract Duration: 1 year renewable subject to availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need for the post

Work Modality:

Remuneration: The fixed remuneration for the above position currently amounts to EUR 5,602 per month and is expressed net of income tax but before deduction of the employee share contributions for mandatory participation in the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) and in the Organization’s private insurance plans covering health, accident, illness, and disability. Other benefits include different types of leave and allowances for dependent family members.
