Overview

Provides technical support and advisory services to strengthen immunization and vaccine development capacity and policies. Focuses on technical and practical aspects of developing guidelines for vaccine introduction and evaluating their impact.

Tasks Summary
  • Provides technical expertise for introduction and scale-up of new vaccines, supporting guideline development and training.
  • Monitors vaccine coverage, drop-out rates, and conducts post-introduction evaluations.
  • Strengthens capacity of health workers through training, supportive supervision, and mentorship.
  • Designs, plans, and coordinates national and sub-national immunization strategies.
  • Facilitates information flow between MOH, NIP, and partners.
  • Develops joint actions with MOH counterparts to facilitate NIS implementation.
  • Supports operationalization and implementation of annual work plans.
  • Plans and conducts vaccination campaigns.
  • Participates, conducts, and monitors capacity-building efforts.
  • Implements WHO-tasked activities agreed upon in EPI review.
  • Organizes meetings and training courses for Immunization advisory bodies.
  • Conducts quarterly field visits to monitor immunization activities and provide feedback.
  • Drafts regular reports and provides updates.
  • Develops Immunization curriculum for vaccinators.
  • Supports resource mobilization, including project planning and proposal development.
  • Transfers knowledge to Ministry of Health technicians and partners.
  • Provides assistance in other areas of immunization programme support as needed.
  • Conducts any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Experience Requirements
  • At least five (05) years of professional and related experience in EPI/or Child health Program.
  • Professional experience working at the country level providing technical advice and services to national counterparts, Ministry of Health, and other external partners on EPI programmes.
  • Experience managing diverse teams.
Qualification Requirements
  • First University degree in a health-related field, medicine, public health or other related field from an accredited/recognized institute.
  • Desirable: Advanced degree in Medicine/Public Health.

Languages Required: Excellent knowledge of English

Languages Preferred: good knowledge of Arabic
