Overview

The Data Management Officer will support the EPI-M&E team in updating immunization service facility rolls, developing and updating tools, and creating an EPI dashboard for data interpretation and use.

Tasks Summary
  • Support the EPI-M&E team to routinely update the roll of facilities offering immunization services, designing and updating tools.
  • Develop and Update an EPI dashboard at national level to facilitate correct interpretation and use of EPI data.
  • Conduct data desk review or triangulation analysis performed (coverage, surveillance, operational, others) to support population estimates and planning of services.
  • Assist the EPI program to develop EPI score cards to be discussed in the quarterly county review meetings and monthly facility-community (BHI) engagement meetings.
  • Continuously assess training needs and support capacity building efforts of the ministry around data management.
  • Support Data Quality Assessments, drafting Data Quality Improvement plans, and monitor its implementation.
  • Design, develop, and maintain databases and data management systems, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and security.
  • Assist in the design and delivery of training programs for staff to improve data literacy and promote best practices in data management.
  • Support the preparation of data reports and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders, utilizing business intelligence tools as needed.
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to data management technologies, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Enhanced data-driven decision-making and accountability within the EPI program.
  • Develop EPI scorecards and use them in biannual county review meetings
  • Regular training sessions are held to improve the data management skills of EPI staff.
  • Conduct the Data Quality Assessments (DQAs) in targeted regions.
  • Draft and monitor the Data Quality Improvement Plans (DQIPs), resulting in higher quality and more reliable data.
  • Increased use of data for decision-making at all levels of the EPI program.
  • Support resource mobilization, including project planning, proposal development and reporting by provide the relevant and accurate data .
  • Transfer knowledge gained to Ministry of Health to the technicians and partners where appropriate.
  • Provide assistance in other areas of immunization programme support as needed.
  • Conduct any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Experience Requirements
  • At least five years of experience in public health and EPI and data management or statistics.
  • Two years of experience in EPI and VPD data management
  • Experience in managing or implementing immunization and surveillance and vaccination information and working with large data.
  • Working knowledge of online data collection applications, statistical analysis packages (Stata, SPSS, etc) and data visualization and creating dashboards.
  • Working experience in the United Nation system or international organizations will be an added value.
Qualification Requirements
  • Essential:Bachelor’s degree in public health, science, or related field Post graduate degree in statistics or public health or relevant fields
  • Desirable: Certified training in public health, epidemiology, or disease control
Other Details

Languages Required: Excellent knowledge of English

Languages Preferred: good knowledge of Arabic
