To produce a concise, high-quality Leave No One Behind and human rights analysis for Guyana, strengthening the UN's evidence base on inclusion and exclusion patterns to inform priority setting, programming, and policy dialogue.
Tasks Summary
- Design a context-sensitive research, validation, and dissemination approach.
- Conduct a comprehensive desk review of relevant national and international sources.
- Systematically review, harmonize, and synthesize available quantitative data, with attention to disaggregation.
- Perform advanced quantitative analysis of existing data, including econometric and statistical techniques.
- Conduct qualitative analysis drawing on key informant inputs.
- Triangulate quantitative and qualitative evidence to generate analytically sound findings.
Experience Requirements
- At least ten years of professional experience in LNOB analysis, human rights-based analysis, or comparable analytical work in a development context.
- Experience leading or contributing to complex, multi-dimensional analytical assignments.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Guyanese development and human rights context, including familiarity with national institutions, policies, key development challenges, governance arrangements, and relevant statistical and administrative data sources.
- Demonstrated experience applying both quantitative and qualitative analytical approaches, including the ability to work with disaggregated data, assess data gaps and limitations, and generate analytically sound findings in data-constrained environments.
- Demonstrated experience engaging with marginalized groups and communities, including sensitivity to political, social, and cultural contexts, and the ability to translate analytical findings into programmatic and policy-relevant insights (desirable).
- Demonstrated familiarity and experience with UN programming processes, including analytical work, Cooperation Frameworks, or similar strategic planning and programming processes at the UN agency or UN Country Team level (desirable).
Qualification Requirements
An advanced University degree (at least master) in development studies, human rights, economics, social sciences, public health, or a related field, with a strong foundation in applied policy analysis is required.
