Overview

The Programme Assistant – Culture Sector will contribute to the design, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of culture projects and activities in the region covered by the UNESCO Regional Office for the Gulf States and Yemen.

Tasks Summary
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of projects and activities in the field of culture.
  • Support projects, activities and initiatives related to tangible cultural heritage, intangible cultural heritage, museums, underwater cultural heritage, diversity of cultural expressions, and fighting illicit trafficking of cultural property.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals, concept notes, work plans, budgets, studies, and analytical reports.
  • Contribute to coordination and regular exchanges with government counterparts, experts, non-governmental organizations, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the organization of meetings, conferences, capacity-building workshops, training activities, and consultation sessions.
  • Assist in the preparation of communication and visibility materials.
  • Contribute to awareness-raising and advocacy activities.
  • Support administrative and operational tasks related to project implementation.
  • Perform any other duties related to the Culture Programme as may be requested.
Experience Requirements
  • 1 month
  • 1 year of experience in the field of culture, including cultural heritage, cultural policies, or the protection and promotion of cultural expressions.
  • Experience related to museums and combating illicit trafficking of cultural property is an asset.
  • Previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience of another context is an asset.
Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's degree in culture, cultural heritage, cultural and social anthropology, creative industries, architecture, archaeology, social and human sciences, or a closely related field.

Remuneration: Monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) at the amount of USD 2,266.95 Annual and learning leaves Entry lump sum USD 4000 Exit allowance ($225 for each month served, paid on completion of contract) Free Medical and life insurance Free access to different learning platforms
