Overview

This internship focuses on communicating the work of the Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (OHRLLS) on digital platforms.

Tasks Summary
  • Brainstorming new and creative ways to communicate about the work of the office on digital platforms.
  • Scanning latest trends in content and advising colleagues on how to keep the channels fresh and relevant.
  • Supporting the production of new content for office websites.
  • Monitoring other organizational channels and liaising with their social media interns to keep across best practice and production methods.
  • Assisting with the implementation of social media activities to promote priority issues and/or major events.
  • Assisting with daily monitoring, community management and maintenance of OHRLLS's global social platforms.
  • Assisting with the production of social media assets including the designing of graphics, videos and other assets for social media.
Experience Requirements

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualification Requirements
  • Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.
Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an asset.

Contract Duration: 6 months

Work Modality: in-person

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
