Overview

The Project Manager will oversee IT solutions, manage project lifecycles, and ensure quality in technical usability, user acceptability, and domain suitability. The role involves leading teams to deliver projects across business units, managing resources, schedules, and financials.

Tasks Summary
  • Lead and coordinate a portfolio of complex initiatives/projects.
  • Act as a central focal point in TEC, orchestrating workflows across TEC teams.
  • Liaise with Business Engagement Managers to understand project requirements.
  • Ensure gathering and validation of requirements follows a Human-Centered Design (HCD) approach.
  • Design and implement project governance, communication, and change management plans.
  • Manage project work-plan, risks, and issues, including monitoring, tracking, and reporting progress.
  • Assess development change requests and gather feasibility and impact assessments.
  • Ensure technical work complies with IT guidelines and procedures.
  • Manage budget and resources assigned to projects, including preparing budget estimates and monitoring availability.
  • Adhere to PMO standards and contribute to the development of project management methodology.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in project management within an organisation.
  • Proven record of management and delivery of the full cycle of projects, ideally IT-related projects.
  • Experience with managing cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with multi-vendor projects, delivery coordination and management.
Qualification Requirements
  • University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Information Technology or related fields.
  • Project Management education/ certification desirable.
Other Details

Languages Required: • Fluency (level C) in English language.

Languages Preferred: • Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official UN language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, and/or WFP’s working language, Portuguese is a desirable.
