Trade Promotion Intern

Overview

The intern will support the overall coordination, management and communication of trade-related technical assistance projects managed by the Office for Asia and the Pacific, including trade promotion activities in the Pacific Island Countries.

Tasks Summary

• Undertake research and analysis with respect to the evolving economic situation of countries in the region, trends in the area of trade development, SME competitiveness.
• Assist in the preparation of project-related documents, including reports, workplans, promotional materials, web articles, etc.
• Assist in the implementation of project activities such as the organization and coordination of meetings, trainings, events, etc.
• Assist in data collection, monitoring and reporting related to project implementation.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure the smooth implementation of project activities.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Experience Requirements

Prior work (study) experience in the area of international trade would be an asset.

Qualification Requirements

Applicants to the programme shall, at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements: a) Be enrolled in the final academic year of the first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent); OR b) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); OR c) Have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within one year of graduation. In one of the following fields or similar: Economics, International Trade, International Law, International Development, Business Administration, or related fields.

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
