Intern - Programme Support

Overview

The intern will support coordination, communications, and analytical tasks linked to programme support, partnerships, and reporting within the Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ROEECA).

Tasks Summary

• Draft and update talking points, briefing notes, and background documents.
• Support the preparation of presentations, briefs, and visual materials.
• Assist in drafting and reviewing official communications and correspondence.
• Support coordination functions, including tracking follow-ups and priorities.
• Assist in compiling and synthesizing information for reports and speeches.
• Support basic data analysis and visualization.
• Contribute to knowledge management and documentation maintenance.
• Assist in organizing meetings, workshops, and regional events.
• Support World Urban Forum (WUF13) mobilization activities.

Experience Requirements

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualification Requirements

• Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher), OR
• Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent), OR
• Have graduated with Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent.
• Be computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
• Proficiency in computer software applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in oral and written English is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of another UN language is desirable.

Contract Duration: 6 months

Work Modality: Hybrid

Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
