Area Based National Laision Officer

Overview

The Area Based National Liaison Officer will provide targeted support to Area-Based Coordination (ABC) initiatives, facilitating deliverables and assisting in the delivery of joint UN Country Team-Humanitarian Country Team outcomes.

Tasks Summary

• Facilitate ABC deliverables.
• Assist the Senior HDP Nexus Coordinator in delivering joint UNCT-HCT Outcome and sub-objectives related to Food Security, Essential Services, Durable Solutions, Rapid Response and Protection, and Governance - Peace and Justice.
• Support government at Juba and state level on the implementation and operationalization of the durable solution steering committee and state level task force.
• Develop operational priorities and roadmaps to address common challenges.
• Improve accountability to affected populations.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in coordination, development, or humanitarian programming.
• Experience working with UN agencies, NGOs, or government institutions in South Sudan.

Qualification Requirements

• Advanced University Degree (master's or higher) in development studies, international relations, public administration, or related field is required.
• A first-level university degree, combined with two (2) additional years of qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree is required.

Languages Required: • Fluency in written and oral English is required.

Languages Preferred: • Familiarity with area-based approaches, HDP Nexus, and durable solutions is desirable. • Commitment to gender equality and conflict sensitivity is desirable.
