Overview

The communication intern will support the creation and dissemination of content to raise awareness of UNFPA's work on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and youth development in the Pacific region.

Tasks Summary
  • Assist in developing content for various communication channels, including social media, websites, and publications (short videos, web stories, animations, infographics, photographs).
  • Conduct research and gather information to support content creation.
  • Assist with social media management tasks, such as scheduling posts and engaging with followers.
  • Assist in multimedia editing and design.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and provide creative inputs.
  • Monitor social media trends and identify opportunities to promote UNFPA's work.
  • Stay up-to-date on current issues related to SRHR and youth development in the Pacific.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Communications Supervisor.
Experience Requirements
Qualification Requirements
  • Be enrolled in the final year of a first university degree programme (such as bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • Be enrolled in a master’s degree programme.
  • Have recently graduated with a university degree as defined above and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation.
  • Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional trainee programme and undertake the internship as part of this programme.
  • Visual storytelling skills.
  • Photography and videography skills.
  • Writing and editing skills.
  • Research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms.
Other Details

Languages Required: • Fluency in English is required.

Languages Preferred: • Proficiency in a Pacific Island language is a plus.

Work Modality:

Remuneration: • Interns do not receive a salary from UNFPA. However, UNFPA provides a monthly stipend to interns. • Applicants must have medical insurance for the duration of the internship. UNFPA does not provide medical insurance for interns.
