Data Analyst

Overview

The United Nations Resident Coordinators Office (UN RCO) in Malaysia seeks a Data Analyst to support five analytical and research efforts focused on socioeconomic issues during 2026.

Tasks Summary

• Update of the UN/ PSN SDG tracking exercise for Malaysia.
• Undertake sub-national analysis of SDG progress, specifically at state-level.
• Enable completion of research using the Modelling tool for Malaysia (MMT) assessing the impacts of US trade tariffs for Malaysia.
• Assist with compilation of data and analysis for a new study on the number and economic role played by migrants.
• Further support the identification and resolution of data gaps on disability issues and finding solutions.

Experience Requirements

• At least 3 years relevant work experience of similar tasks.
• Experience of working on social science/ policy research topics.
• Strong knowledge of the Malaysian context.

Qualification Requirements

• Master's Degree in statistics, econometrics, or other quantitative field of study is required.
• Statistical/ data science skills, specifically including regression and correlation techniques.
