Overview
The People & Culture (HR) Assistant will support the People & Culture Specialist in various administrative tasks related to personnel management, contributing to the efficiency of HR processes and the well-being of staff.
Tasks Summary
- Participate in the recruitment of UN Volunteers and staff, preparing vacancy notices, organizing tests and interviews.
- Ensure the onboarding and orientation of UNV and staff, providing necessary documents and information.
- Maintain daily updates of all HR data, including recruitments, training, and staff numbers.
- Implement and monitor leave plans and staff attendance.
- Contribute to the management of consultants, including selection, administrative follow-up, and evaluation.
- Support HR communication activities by drafting content and producing information tools.
- Participate in the implementation of innovative HR projects, revising processes and proposing digital solutions.
- Liaise with HR colleagues from other offices to share best practices and improve the work environment.
- Ensure regular development and updating of HR databases and produce periodic reports.
- Contribute to the development of the office's diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy.
- Prepare and/or draft necessary correspondence and communications.
- Ensure electronic updating of files in Sharedrive, respecting confidentiality.
- Plan meetings and draft minutes.
- Contribute to the establishment of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Support the analysis of HR data to identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Perform any other related tasks.
Experience Requirements
- At least five (5) months of professional experience demonstrating practical exposure to areas such as human resources (HR), project management, communication and innovation, partner/client relations, administration and logistical support, law, training, digital transformation, and the use of collaborative tools, or any other related field.
- Prior experience in the United Nations (UN) system or a similar context is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
• Hold a university degree (Licence or equivalent) in a relevant field such as human resources management, administrative or operational management, anthropology, sociology, psychology, literature and languages, international relations, law, social/political sciences, economics and management, communication, or any other related field.
