Expert – Climate Change Adaptation

Overview

Provide technical services for the assessment of technology needs for climate change adaptation activities in Mongolia, focusing on the Agriculture Sector and Forest and Land Use sectors.

Tasks Summary

• Organise consultative stakeholder meetings and workshops.
• Identify and prioritise technologies for Agriculture Sector and Forest and Land Use Sector.
• Prepare and finalize TNA, BA&EF and TAP reports, with project ideas and policy briefs.
• Prepare a portfolio of technologies for the sector.
• Prepare a Technology Needs Assessment (TNA) report.
• Prepare a Barrier Analysis and Enabling Framework (BA&EF) report.
• Prepare a Technology Action Plan (TAP) report.
• Prepare one policy brief per technology taken to the TAP.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with Bachelors degree or minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience required with masters degree.
• At least 5 years of work experience in the Agriculture Sector or related fields, preferably in Mongolia.
• At least 5 years of practical experience in relevant fields, including research analysis and project management.
• Experience in an international agency or organization is desirable, preferably in Mongolia.

Qualification Requirements

Postgraduate degree in environmental management or other climate-related fields.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency in written and spoken English is required.

Languages Preferred:

Contract Duration: 10 months

Work Modality: Field trips and trips to attend training and capacity-building workshops will occur. International travel might be required for this consultancy.
