Overview

This internship focuses on assisting the eTrade Initiatives Section with analysis and the organization of technical assistance projects, aiming to build a more inclusive and sustainable future through digital opportunities.

Tasks Summary
  • Assist with the planning and organization of capacity-building initiatives focusing on empowering women digital entrepreneurs from the Global South, including by supporting communication with relevant stakeholders and preparing related background documentation;
  • Drafts inputs for analytical studies, policy briefs and presentations on issues related to women and digital entrepreneurship;
  • Provide support in establishing a new cohort of eTrade for Women Advocates;
  • Assist in the preparation of communication-related materials for planned activities (news items, web content, social media posts, etc.);
  • Support other activities of the Section as required.
Experience Requirements

No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualification Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme. Should be computer literate in standard software applications.

Other Details

Languages Required: Fluency spoken and written in English and Chinese is required.

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage

Contract Duration: four months, until 28 August 2026

Work Modality: in-person

Remuneration: The Internship Programme is unpaid and full-time, i.e., an intern is expected to work five days per week (40 hours). All costs of travel, accommodation, medical insurance and living expenses must be covered by the intern.
