Overview

The Psychologist (Maternity Cover) will support the implementation of protection activities under the programme “The implementation of assisted voluntary returns including reintegration measures and operation of Open Center in the Prefecture of Attica for applicants of voluntary return (AVRR/OCAVRR)”. The role involves providing psychological support and assessments to migrants.

Tasks Summary
  • Perform initial psychological assessments for referred migrants.
  • Identify and follow-up on pre-existing mental health conditions.
  • Maintain comprehensive and updated case files.
  • Provide psychological support and individual/group counselling sessions.
  • Refer cases to psychiatrists and accompany vulnerable cases to appointments.
  • Organize and conduct psychosocial activities, focus group discussions, and awareness-raising sessions.
  • Liaise with other teams on case management and beneficiary needs.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports, including case management reports and statistics.
  • Develop and maintain an efficient mental health referral system.
  • Conduct regular mapping of national and humanitarian mental health services.
  • Provide regular feedback on work accomplished.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of paperwork.
  • Alert supervisor of any non-compliance to SOPs or codes of conduct.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum three years previous work experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working in an emergency and/or post-conflict setting an advantage.
  • Familiar with direct assistance to migrants and/or refugees.
  • Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment.
Qualification Requirements
  • University degree in Psychology (Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology or similar) from an accredited academic institution.
  • Registration or chartered membership with the Greek Psychological Association required.

Languages Required: • Fluency in English and Greek is required (oral and written).
