Overview

Provide technical expertise in water and sanitation operations, including installation, maintenance, and repair of water supply and wastewater systems.

Tasks Summary
  • Locates viable water sources and abstraction points.
  • Supervises drilling of wells and boreholes and construction of water intakes.
  • Installs, maintains, and performs emergency repairs on water supply and wastewater systems.
  • Monitors the performance of water and wastewater equipment and infrastructure.
  • Performs daily chemical and bacteriological analysis of water and treated wastewater effluent.
  • Supervises installation and maintenance of sanitation facilities.
  • Monitors and ensures adequate stock levels of spare parts and tools.
  • Consolidates analysis results in report form.
  • Provides field-based input for scope of works.
  • Initiates work orders.
  • Supervises outsourced contractors.
  • Maintains operational trackers for water and sanitation assets.
Experience Requirements
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in the field of Water and Sanitation is required.
  • Experience in operating, maintaining, and repairing water supply, sanitation, and wastewater systems is required.
  • Experience in water quality monitoring and basic laboratory testing and preparation of related reports is required.
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Experience working in international operations and/or field missions in complex or post-conflict environments is desirable.
  • Experience preparing technical inputs for scopes of work, work orders and maintenance plans, including spare parts forecasting is desirable.
  • Experience with CMMS/asset management tools and/or data dashboards is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Technical or vocational certificate in Water Resources, Water sample analysis installation, operation and maintenance of water equipment is desirable.

Languages Required: English is required.

Languages Preferred: French is desirable. Spanish is desirable.
