Overview
The ICT Assistant will provide technical and administrative support in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) within a dynamic environment, working from the Brasilia office for the entire SCMCO. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of ICT services, contributing to the achievement of organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of ICT operational strategies.
- Provide prompt, friendly, and effective user support.
- Identify information and system technology needs.
- Maintain an inventory of computers, audio/video communication equipment, and software.
- Ensure effective installation, operation, and maintenance of hardware and software.
- Monitor the effective functioning of the Business Unit's information and communication services.
- Maintain the network and internet connectivity.
- Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of UNOPS ICT systems and information assets.
- Supervise and maintain adequate backups of UNOPS data.
- Maintain business continuity and disaster recovery processes and procedures.
- Maintain videoconferencing and telephony systems.
- Provide contributions to knowledge networks and communities.
- Participate in, organize, and deliver training for operations/project staff in ICT services.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in ICT technical support, network administration, and customer service.
- Experience in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software.
- Desirable: Experience in the United Nations or international organizations.
Qualifications
- Required: High school diploma.
- Desirable: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields.
