Overview
The WASH Specialist supports the development, preparation, management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the WASH programme. The Specialist provides technical guidance and management support throughout the programming processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Programme development and planning
- Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results
- Technical and operational support for programme implementation
- Humanitarian WASH preparedness and response
- Networking and partnership building
- Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building
Required Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in WASH-related programmes for developing countries is required.
- One year of deployment in a developing country is required.
- At least one three-month deployment mission in a humanitarian situation (with UN-Govt-INGO) is required.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
- Experience in managing WASH programmes in conflict-affected or high-risk contexts.
Qualifications
- An advanced university degree in public health, social sciences, behavior change communication, sanitary engineering or another relevant technical field is required.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field combined with (2) additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
