Overview
The Finance Manager is responsible for leading the team and coordinating the financial management function of the Abuja Cluster office in line with Federation procedures and policies, ensuring efficiency, integrity, and accountability in service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the monthly financial cycle and conduct capacity risk assessments for project partners.
- Prepare monthly financial analysis reports and oversee donor financial reporting.
- Follow up on internal audit findings and ensure implementation of finance policies and procedures.
- Manage Cluster office funds, financial assets, and treasury functions.
- Coordinate budget compilation and manage the budgeting cycle.
- Validate monthly payroll and provide training on financial management matters.
- Monitor National Society advances and ensure timely reporting and clearance.
- Support emergency preparedness and response, including budget preparation and financial risk advice.
- Conduct capacity reviews and risk assessments of National Societies and provide financial advice.
- Conduct 100% check on cluster office procurements and ensure compliance with IFRC policies.
- Plan, manage, and monitor the use of Finance team resources and foster a culture of quality service.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience.
- Minimum of 8 years in a finance management position.
- Minimum of 5 years' work experience with an International Organisation.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Team Management and remote support.
- Experience in plan & budget, financial analysis & statements, reporting & treasury management, external financial audit.
- Experience working in a multicultural environment.
- Preferred: International non-governmental organization, NGO and/or government development agency.
- Required: Experience working with the International Red Cross / Red Crescent Movement.
Qualifications
- Relevant university degree (Master in Business Administration or equivalent)
- Professional qualification in Accounting (Chartered accountant, ACIPM, CPA or equivalent)
