Overview
Provides administrative and coordination support to oil and gas-related engagements and associated workstreams within the Economic Unit, and administrative support to the Political Affairs Section (PAS).
Key Responsibilities
- Administratively manage and provide coordination support to oil and gas-related workstreams, including support to consultants and assistance in planning expert meetings.
- Assist in preparatory administrative actions related to recruitment and onboarding processes.
- Assist in tracking Trust Fund-related activities and maintaining internal documentation and budget monitoring tools.
- Support the Economic Unit in applying Results-Based Budgeting (RBB) principles.
- Support the administrative preparation of activities and official travel.
- Contributes to the development and refinement of internal administrative workflows and tracking mechanisms.
- Translate essential administrative and working documents (Arabic/English).
- Performs other related administrative duties.
Required Experience
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in administration, finance, accounting, human resources management or related areas is required.
- Knowledge of UN peace operations is required.
- Extensive experience translating administrative and working documents between English and Arabic is required.
- Experience in working with UN enterprise resources planning systems, such as Umoja, is desirable.
Qualifications
- Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in business or public administration, finance, accounting, law or related field is required.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
